This week has been the first of two great learning experiences at the Ideal Heating Expert Academy, attending the Advanced heat pump technician course.
This week has been focused on the refrigeration skills concluding with a City and guilds Cat 1 qualification.
This is the highest level of F-Gas qualification and allows us to undertake work on any size of F-Gas system but there`s still so much to learn.

Luckily we will be back in two weeks for the next phase to learn advanced heat pump diagnostic and repair skills.

This has been something i`ve been wanted to do for years, the vapour compression cycle is truly magic and (if it isn`t already) is set to become the backbone of our industry, I`d encourage anyone interested to join the course.

We`ve been pretty quiet on social media recently but we have been busy installing high quality #heatpumps . Here`s one of my favourite domestic installations to date.

This project already had a local installer assigned to it but following a recommendation from a previous client and an onsite meeting, the client and I agreed our values aligned.
He wanted a top quality system for a large conversion and retrofit project on the outskirts of #bostonspa and #harrogate.
Following a design process with the help of h2x we settled on a cascade of two #stiebeleltron WPL07 Premium ASHP`s alongside their cylinders, buffers and controls package.
This project is innovative as it uses a Wilo Group heating circulator that better balances the flow over the primary and secondary side of the buffer, reducing distortion and increasing efficiency.
Also incorporated into the design was an ESBE Group secondary TMV mixing valve to mitigate heat losses, 30m of underground pipework from Ingoodnic. All supplied by Luke Clarkson and Daniel Frost at Duftons Plumbing & Heating Supplies.

The project is still running so the plant room/ Garage is used as a store, but i`m looking forward to returning to get some better pictures of the install next to the Ferrari to see which looks better!
